Many chemicals used in the fracking process in oil and gas drilling are known toxics and/or carcinogens. In order to protect all life forms and still allow fracking to continue, I support a state law that requires only non-toxic, biodegradable chemicals to be used in drilling processes in the state of Colorado.
Why is this important?
The fracking process used in oil and gas drilling is causing numerous and varied proposed regulations from all levels of government in Colorado. Since fracking is unlikely to be eliminated, a Colorado state law that it should only be done with non-toxic, biodegradable chemicals seems easier and appropriate.
