Green Tax Shift

Replace the regressive state income tax with a carbon tax.Tax bads, not goods.

Why is this important?

I am irritated that every rational green initiative starts in California first and that they now, along with Australia,New Zealand, and S.Korea, are beginning a cap and trade system, while our legislature occupys itself with thinking small.I suggest that we replace our regressive state income tax system with a carbon tax on oil, coal, and natural gas, adjusted upwards yearly as,like good Yankees,we all try to invest in energy upgrades, solar roofs, hybrid and electric cars so that we can have our neighbor who doesn't do this pay our carbon tax. This will spur local investment and put us ahead of those states taxing income, investment, and payroll.
