Ask the people that you elected to represent your interests, if they signed The Pledge. Tell them that you did not give them permission to sign Grover's Pledge. Hold them accountable. Tell them that The Pledge has caused gridlock. Tell them that you want our democracy to work. We need a debate about taxes.
Why is this important?
Grover Norquist is not an elected official, and he's not a political appointee. Republicans fear him and his organization, Americans For Tax Reform. They have signed The Pledge. The Pledge is forever. Grover will not allow them to UNSIGN The Pledge. American citizens did not sign The Pledge. Most of us do not even know about it, but we are adversely affected by it. The Pledge leaves no room for compromise. Without compromise, there is no democracy.
