Hair Salons/One Client at a Time (soft opening April 27, 2020)
Most hair stylists are independent contractors and we are sitting idle right now. We aren't making money and it's going to kill our business and our economy. I am petitioning the Governor, Mike Parsons, to open hair salons on a limited basis. One stylist, one client at a time. We will wear masks, gloves and coverings and will sanitize in between each client.
Allow a licensed beauty professional to perform a beauty service/ privately with one client in the salon / per stylist at a time Starting as of Monday, April 27, 2020. All necessary precautions and sanitation protocols approved by the state of Missouri and the local Board of Health will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized & deemed as an essential business so we can better serve our community.
Servicing one client at a time (while wearing a mask & gloves) poses little to no risk of spreading the virus, as compared to 20 or more people in a grocery store or 10 plus people at restaurants picking up food.

Why is this important?
Our industry is mostly staffed by independent contractors who rely solely on clients to make money. We are facing a grave financial hardship and if this continues much longer will be forced to close salons and lose our livlihoods.
