Harry Reid: Appoint Senator Sherrod Brown as Charmain of Banking
Appoint Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) to head the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs after Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) retires.
Why is this important?
Since Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) is retiring in 2014, we have an opportunity to appoint a Chairman who will ensure that Mega-Banks do not commit numerous financial crimes and that their size will be reduced in order to increase stability in the economy. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is an appropriate candidate for chairmanship, as he proposes ending "Too Big to Fail" and has introduced legislation in the past placing limits on the size of our nation's financial institutions. Many Americans have had enough of "Too Big to Fail" and the time has come to appoint a chairman who will take action to end it.
