To: The Ohio State Senate
HB 380
I have bad news for Ohio asbestos victims. The Ohio Legislature is, once again, considering a proposed law that could finally end the rights of Ohioans with life threatening or fatal asbestos diseases to seek fair compensation from injury. This proposed law is called House Bill 380.
House Bill 380 creates multiple hurdles and loopholes that will make it impossible for Ohio’s asbestos victims to get their day in court. As a result, companies that knowingly and intentionally exposed millions of Ohioans to poisonous asbestos products will not be held accountable for there reckless conduct. This law specifically targets Ohio asbestos victims and benefits out of state asbestos companies that have injured thousands of Ohio residents. It will have a devastating impact on the most severely injured asbestos victims and may impact your rights to receive future money compensation for your case.
In 2008, the Ohio Legislature considered an identical bill. With the help of many of our clients, we were able to defeat the law. It is also imperative, however, that my clients, the asbestos victims of Ohio, once again join me in this fight. If, like me, you believe that Ohio’s asbestos victims have the right to have their cases heard in court then you must contact State Senator Tom Patton at 614-466-8056 and let him know how you feel. Tell him to vote “NO” because House Bill 380 is unfair to Ohio’s asbestos victims and is unfair to you. You can also send a letter to Senator Patton urging him to vote “NO” on House Bill 380. His address is:

I cannot stress enough how important it is that you contact Senator Patton. The asbestos companies are trying to quickly ram this bill through the legislature over the next several weeks. With your help, we can defeat this horribly unfair bill. These companies must be held accountable.
