Help Berks Countians Get a Public Hearing on the Berks Hollow Power Plant

Tell the DEP that your constituents deserve a public hearing on the Berks Hollow Power Plant.

Why is this important?

PA DEP TO APPROVE ANOTHER SHALE GAS POWER PLANT

We're calling on you to ensure that the Berks Hollow Power Plant does not proceed before we get the public hearing we deserve.

PA DEP is about to issue an air quality permit for a huge source of air pollution in Berks County - a natural gas power plant. This plant will emit many tons of volatile organic compounds and other harmful pollutants as well as methane, a potent greenhouse gas.

Air pollutants from the plant and the station harm the health of nearby residents, create smog, and accelerate climate change. Pennsylvania continues to approve permits for large natural gas facilities at an alarming rate.
