Help Create the Ann Calhoun Memorial Monarch Butterfly Preserve in Los Osos, California

San Luis Obispo is the epicenter of Monarch Butterfly overwintering grounds on the U.S. West Coast. Assembly Bill 559 (Patty Lopez) directs the Dept. of Fish & Wildlife to help the public create Monarch Butterfly Preserves and it was just signed by the Governor. Citizens of Los Osos and Morro Bay have a 3-point 3-parcel plan that stops trees from being cut, plants milkweed and preserves microclimate for the butterflies- Your signature here helps make that plan a reality!

Why is this important?

Rather than cut the last of our large canopy trees in Los Osos, we citizens urge they be saved for the microclimate they provide and be included in the Ann Calhoun Memorial Monarch Butterfly Preserve at Sweet Springs, Monarch Grove and on the Powell Property in Los Osos next to Los Osos Middle School!
