Help keep my German Shepherds safe!
Because my house sits on a corner, I am not allowed to have a privacy fence along the street side without approval by the City of Indianapolis. To have the safest possible yard, I am asking for your signature to gain support so that my dogs are kept safe from foot and car traffic. X-rays revealed that one of my dogs, who passed last year, had a bullet or BB pellet lodged in his back. People throw trash over my fence and harass me and my dogs. I just want to feel as safe as I can. Please help me have the same rights as other homeowners who don't live on a corner.
Why is this important?
Because I live on a corner, I am subjected to foot traffic on three sides of my home. The neighborhood in which I live has many families living in single-family homes. They allow their pets to roam off-leash and some keep their pet in their front yard which faces my back yard. Neighbor's cats wander the streets constantly. My dogs are my life. Not having sufficient barrier between us and constant traffic is a major concern. I believe I have the right to keep myself and my pets as safe as other homes who do not live on a corner. In fact, I would say that I deserve more protection because I do live on a corner.
