Help Save McDee's Cat Colony
12+-year-old cat colony shelters being thrown away, leaving cats without protection in the upcoming winter.
Why is this important?
McDee's Cat Colony has been in existence for 12+ years at the same location.
Mattress Firm was aware of the cat colony when they purchased the property.
Recently, Mattress Firm placed a padlock on the gate, preventing Caregivers from entering and tending to the colony. As a result, there were 3 cats found deceased in the shelters that may have been able to receive care.
Also, Mattress Firm recently began Throwing Away all the Shelters, as well as Humane Trapping Equipment that was being used to trap 3 new cats that needed to be TNR. This action resulted in the birth of 5 kittens.
Several attempts have been made to contact management to possibly cease any further action until Arrangements can be made for possible relocation by animal rescue groups. Mattress Firm told caregivers that the reason for evicting the cat colony was due to him and possible customers having allergies as well as flies in the area. Mattress Firm did not post any warnings about the cats or shelters needing removal. According to management, everyone is directed to contact corporate, who has yet to respond. Please sign to let Mattress Firm how Cruel and Inhuman their actions against homeless and defenseless cats were, especially with winter months approaching.
