We strongly advocate that the County Council budget for a FULLY FUNDED and accelerated program of community outreach on all the impacted lakes in the Stillaguamish Clean Water District.
Why is this important?
Our lakes are having toxic algae blooms... development and the human impact are the main culprits. And the data clearly shows long-term deterioration. It will take some time and education to turn this around.
Ask the County to fund an increased community outreach plan.
The monies are already there... collected by state law specifically for the protection of the environment in the Stillaguamish Clean Water District. Ask them to use it... or lose our lakes!
