I am extremely disappointed that the Trump administration is trying to roll back more safety and environmental protection standards for offshore oil drilling. We need to keep these standards intact to prevent another fatal Deepwater Horizon oil disaster.

Our waters support diverse marine life and the economies of coastal communities. We cannot put them at risk of catastrophic damage from an oil spill.

This rollback is even more disconcerting considering that the administration is also planning to open protected areas of our oceans to the fossil fuel industry. This would further increase the risk of another Deepwater Horizon.

I strongly oppose this and other attacks on our oceans. I urge you to protect these places, not hand them over to the oil industry.

Sincerely,

Why is this important?

The Trump administration is trying to slash safety and environmental protection rules for drilling in our oceans. In other words, Trump wants to let the oil industry drill in more places -- all while making it less safe.

The Department of the Interior wants to know what the public thinks about this plan. We need your help to send 30,000 comments saying NO to Big Oil destroying our oceans!
