Give Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan
extra points towards civil service qualification for
hiring by the U.S. Post Office Curtail the 75 year
prefunding of the P.O. retirement health benefits
fund to more fairly state the "losses", oppose
privatization of the P.O. and avoid layoffs of
hundreds of thousands of employees while
maintaining saturday services for the public's
convenience.
Why is this important?
The Post Office "losses" are due to a poison pill bill passed to prefund retiree health benefits for the next 75 years! Some can not stand that P.O. is color blind in hiring--too many "minorities"
are getting good paying jobs because civil service exams can not discriminate. They want to close post offices and lay off hundreds of thousands of hard working employees. Also, Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan should get extra bonus points so they can be hired. Benjamin Franklin understood how important the P.O. is to our democracy. We can not let this
institution be privatized.
