Why is this important?
More than 16,000 people - 5000 more than the 11,203 first required by the city - signed the citizen-led petitions to place reduced marijuana penalties on the ballot for voters this fall.
But after the 60-day petition period ended, city hall says they made a mistake and raised the requirement, keeping the question off the ballot.
City councilors have a new resolution to ask voters if the city should adopt the proposed measure and they want to hear from voters. Tell them to honor the will of voters who did their part to hold this election.
