To: Dave McCormick (R) U.S. Senator (202) 224-6324
Host a Town Hall During Recess: Dave McCormick
Subject: Urgent Request for In-Person Public Forums
Dear Senator McCormick,
As your constituents, we are signing this petition to express our deep frustration and disappointment over the lack of in-person public forums where we and our community members can engage with you directly.
We are deeply affected by the ongoing chaos and dysfunction stemming from policies and actions at the national level, including the consequences of President Donald Trump’s leadership, Elon Musk’s mass layoffs of American workers, and proposals to cut essential public services like Social Security and Medicaid. Additionally, we have serious concerns about the future of our public schools, the postal service, and support for veterans.
Meanwhile, the issues that matter most to voters—rising grocery prices, the lack of affordable housing, and the soaring costs of healthcare—continue to worsen without sufficient action.
We urge you to schedule in-person town halls so you can hear directly from the people you were elected to represent and be accountable for the decisions you support or enable.
There is still time to do right by your constituents. We ask that you meet with us in good faith and listen to our concerns.
Sincerely,
Steven Oravets

Why is this important?
Recess is a time for members of Congress to return to their home states. They should be using this week to meet with their constituents, give space for their concerns, and take that back to D.C.
Instead, House Republican leaders are now reportedly telling their offices to avoid holding public events when they are home for March recess. This is the opposite of the directions Democrats are receiving—with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries encouraging all members to connect directly with constituents to talk about the Republican-backed attacks on key services like Social Security and Medicaid embodied by Elon Musk's actions and the Republican budget.

[MEMBER OF CONGRESS] was elected to represent us—they should not be hiding from their constituents. Period.
Add your name to the petition to demand [MEMBER OF CONGRESS] host a town hall or public office hours during the congressional recess!
