House GOP: Approve the Senate Version of the Farm Bill
Dear Members of the House of Representatives,
On November 1, deep cuts in the food stamp program went into effect, slashing monthly benefits to needy families. With the holiday season fast approaching, the last thing the government should do is cut assistance to these families.
To make matters worse, the House proposed a version of the Farm Bill, which provides funding for food stamps, that would cut an additional $40 billion from SNAP, while the Senate proposed its own version that would cut just $4 billion.
While we’ve been waiting for Congress to pass a new Farm Bill, millions of Americans have been struggling to make ends meet due to the automatic spending cuts. This is irresponsible and unacceptable. Congress must take action to increase—not cut—funding for SNAP so that all families can eat.
We, the undersigned, urge the House to authorize the Senate version of the Farm Bill. American families should never go hungry at the hand of the government.
Sincerely,
[Your name]

Why is this important?
This petition was created to show Republicans in the House of Representatives how their constituents really feel about the automatic and proposed cuts to the food stamp program.
