ICE: Use Prosecutorial Discretion to keep ura Sujey Menjivar Lara (A #098-595-939) 3-year-old so...
Please stop the deportation of our friend and community member, Aura Sujey Menjivar Lara A#098-595-939. In a recent memo ICE indicated that parents of U.S. born minors should not be deported. We ask that you implement this policy change and let Aura stay with her 3-year-old son Edwin Rodriguez Menjivar. Aura is a loving mother, an integral part of the Howard County community in Columbia, Maryland. Aura has lived in the United States since November 04, 2004. On October 9th, 2012 Aura was pulled over by a local police and after not being able to produce a driver license Aura was taken in. Aura charges were dropped but ICE put a hold on her. Aura had no criminal record.
We ask ICE in Baltimore to close Aura’s case. Aura escaped violence in El Salvador to provide a better life for herself, and now that Aura is the sole provider for Edwin its inhuman to deport Aura and Edwin to a country that is not their home. Thousands of innocent people are killed in El Salvador don’t let a mother of Edwin a US Citizens be the next victim. LAST year The Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens that crime and violence levels in El Salvador remain critically high. In 2012, El Salvador had one of the highest per capita murder rates in the world: 69 per 100,000 people (by comparison, the murder rate in Massachusetts, with a similar geographical area and population, was 2.6 per 100,000). On March 27th, 2014 former ICE Deputy Director John Sandweg made the case that people like Aura who have no criminal record other than a “re-entry” charge should not be a high priority for ICE because Aura will be torn from her son Edwin, she is a single mom and ICE needs to use its scarce resources tracking down high priority criminals not single mothers who putting food on the table for their 3-year-old US Citizen sons.
Aura works full time and when she is not working she spends her time with Edwin. Aura wants to further her education in the United States of America, in El Salvador Aura completed two semesters of University in Computer Science Management.
.
Aura spent 5 nights and 4 days in jail when she was detained, and her son Edwin missed her dearly. Edwin is afraid for his mother safety, Edwin is developing depression like symptoms that worry Aura. Aura has established roots in the United States of America
Aura is a good mother, a good American, and Edwin needs her in Howard County not in El Salvador. How can a 3-year-old without their mother?
Thank you for your attention and we hope that you make the right decision & let Aura stay home with Edwin.

Why is this important?
Aura will separated from her 3-year-old son Edwin. On Friday December 15, 2013, Aura was told by ICE in Baltimore, Maryland to pack her bags and say goodbye to Edwin because she will be leaving the United States of America soon. Aura has and ankle bracelet put on her on December 06, 2013 like some criminal when Aura had no criminal record. I know that the community has the power to stop separating families.
You can help keep Aura with her 3-year-old son Edwin. Aura has lived in Marylan since 2004. Aura has worked really hard all of these years to provide for Edwin and to see him go to school. Aura dream is to see Edwine go to college and be an attorney, doctor, or Engineer. Aura can only dream, she is a single undocumented mother trying to make it for her son.
In 2012, Aura was detained by Maryland police officers for driving without a license while Aura was working. ICE detained Aura for 4 days before being let go and then put into deportation proceedings. Aura spent 4 days in detention away from Edwin for wanting to change the future of her children. Like many of us Edwin wasn’t born in the United States of America with all of its opportunities. Aura took action and provided an opportunity for a better life for her children. In El Salvador Aura escape poverty, violence, and hopelessness for an opportunity of a better life. I would do the same and I know you would too. Please help keep Aura with her son, Edwin.
