I'm Voting Yes on Amendment 65

Wealth is being used to buy this election and the influence that comes with it. We the people should be deciding this election, not big money special interest groups and their negative TV ads. I'm voting Yes on 65 in Colorado to stand up to big money in politics.

Why is this important?

Is This What Democracy Looks Like? In 9 out of 10 congressional elections, the candidate who spends the most money wins.

Nearly $20 million in political ads have been purchased on Denver’s top 4 stations. That buys 18,956 ads; at 30 seconds each, it would take 158 hours to watch them all.

Of the $230 million raised by Super PACs from individuals in the first two quarters of the 2012 election cycle, more than half (57.1%) came from just 47 people giving at least $1 million. Just over 1,000 donors giving $10,000 or more were responsible for 94% of this fundraising.

We CAN Get Big Money out of Politics. We can correct the errors of the Citizens United ruling by passing an amendment to the U.S. Constitution authorizing limits on campaign contributions and spending that ensure that all of us, regardless of wealth, have an equal voice in our democracy.
