Please adopt and implement Laura's Law in Orange County so that intensive court-ordered mental health treatment can be provided in the community.
People with mental illness should not have to deteriorate to the point they are on the street, end up in jail, victimized or dead. Waiting for danger is too late.
Why is this important?
Laura's Law provides court-ordered intensive treatment in the community for individuals with mental illness providing consistent supervision for those whose treatment is not provided by other community services. It is modeled after Kendra's Law in New York state and is preventative.
