The UCOP science committee should view new alternatives to supervised hands-on labs and revise "a-g" requirement d accordingly. This move can save California millions of dollars.
Why is this important?
A decade's old regulation (part 'd' of the "a-g" requirements) is stifling California's high school education. The University of California's Office of the President should act to recognize the promise of modern technology and drastically revise this regulation to save money and improve science learning.
