IMPROVE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MOTOR-VOTER LAW

Review the implementation of the Motor Voter law with particular attention to communication between the Department of Public Safety and the voter registration office. No one should loose their right to vote because of bureaucratic mix-ups.

Why is this important?

The purpose of the motor-voter law was to increase voter participation by making it easier to register. But because of a disconnect between the Department of Public Safety and the registration office many people who registered at the motor-vehicle department are turned away at the polls because they are not registered. I know of one case where around 2000 people lost their right to vote because of this disconnect.
