Improve the voting rights act!
The Supreme Court has gutted the intent of the voting rights act. Support measures to reinforce the provisions it was intended for and prevent restrictions on voting! Ask our congressman, Phil Roe to support, co sponsor and fight to improve the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014.
Why is this important?
I have not been personally affected yet, but the recent erosion of voting rights in neighboring NC is disturbing. Are we trying to disenfranchise the poor, the elderly, and people of color? Voter fraud is really a pretty specious argument when we cannot even get 40% participation in many elections! Phil Roe should fight to allow his under served constituency an unrestricted right to vote.
