Increase Minimum Wage vs. Earned Income Tax Credit

Increase of Minimum Wage would reduce poverty and inequality, increase the standard of living of employees, and reduce high turn-over by increasing morale. The debate is focus on unskilled labor where jobs require nothing more than a high school diploma, or could even be filled by a high school dropout. Today, the job market demands increasing skill level because many jobs that were once considered unskilled labor now demands semi-or mid-skill labor.

We the assigned, ask that government, on Federal, State, and Local level act to increase measures that will elevate skills, training, education of the least advantaged citizens, or at the least, increase minimum wage to withstand the constant increase of cost of living.

Why is this important?

Those with money, resources, and unlimited opportunity insists an increase of minimum wage would be disastrous to unskilled workers, and unemployment would increase. The bottom line is centered on reducing poverty and increasing standard of living; but failure is resulting due to power structure insistence on the effects of loss of profits or increase in expenses. The wealth gap has expanded in favor of the 'Haves', while the 'Have nots' were introduced to Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) to curve Public Opinion and offset low income living wage.
