Incorporate safety measures to deter domestic violence during the Stay-at-Home Order.
Why is this important?
Reports are showing that domestic violence is dramatically increasing daily due to the Stay-at-home Orders. Safe preventive measures should be put in place to deter the likelihood of future domestic violence incidents. Some possible suggestions can be increased police presence in areas where calls are being made by patrolling local neighborhoods. Also, by making follow up phone calls should be made to homes of 911 callers reporting abuse. Safety measures can possibly place abusers on high alert that law enforcement is canvasing the areas regularly, which may save lives.
Let's please tell our State Representative Rebekah Warren, and Michigan State Police Commissioners to protect our families. Quick safety measures need to be set in place to protect victims in isolation with an abuser. Please sign my petition to draw more attention to this issue.
