Many A.A. and N.A. groups operate as if they are above the law. A.A.'s GSO and N.A.'s WSO grant the ability to form groups to virtually anyone who requests it, with no requirements and no background checks. After doing so, they take no responsibility for anything that occurs in any "autonomous" group. This often results in vulnerable people being victimized.

Throughout the United States, Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings are covering up criminal activity, ranging from drug dealing to crimes-against-persons.
