There are some things that can be changed but closure would be damaging to both jobs and service for rural areas. An example would be to let postmasters ask for the products they need instead of sending them. The beauty of the postal service was that you could send a letter anywherre for the same prcie. To think that someone in the private sector will pick up rural mail service at a similar price point is just crazy.
Why is this important?
The United States Postal Service is a service for the common good.
