Senate on Indian Affairs needs to intervene in #NoDAPL
The U.S. is in violation of the 1851 treaty by allowing the construction of the pipeline on sacred burial grounds and potentially contaminating the water thus, effecting the health and safety of Native Americans and others living in the area and those who would be affected by the water as in flows into other rivers, lakes, and streams. This petition is not exclusive of atrocities waged against the Water Protectors in North Dakota while the government turns its head. The Senate on Indian Affairs Committee needs to use every means possible to stop this horrific treatment of Native Americans in North Dakota NOW! Corporations are not people!!!
Why is this important?

To the Majority leader chairman, The Honorable John Barrasso, and minority leader vice-chairman The Honorable John Tester, and members of The Select Committee on Indian Affairs. We the People of the United States would like to urge your immediate response to the ongoing and escalating situation at the Dakota Access Pipeline near the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s reservation in North Dakota.
Many of us have been following the situation very closely since late spring, early summer. We are very concerned about what we see on live video and what originally was not reported to main stream media. We are concerned about the ability of those at Standing Rock to have access to the bridge which has been shut down cutting off all traffic to the casino which is the livelihood of the tribe. We are also concerned about interference with access to the internet feeds which cuts the people at Standing Rock from allowing people to see what is happening on the front lines and having proof of the atrocities going on along with health and safety issues.
The health and safety of the Water Protectors is paramount to ensure thei...
