Just Don't Do It

Please sign a petition to mandate suicide prevention education in schools. Suicide is the number three killer of teens in the USA. There is a suicide every 7 minutes in the USA, every 6 minutes in the military. How many more children are going to lose their brother, sister, mom, dad and friend to a preventable disease?

Why is this important?

Rhode Island has the highest suicide attempt rate in the Nation. Please sign a petition to get suicide prevention in schools. Suicide is the #3 killer among teens. School psychologists and counselors do not have suicide prevention training as part of their education. A Bill was just passed in Congress mandating that most health care professionals be trained in suicide prevention. The deadline for this petition is Nov. 18th, 2012, the date of the 14th Annual International Survivor of Survivors day.
