To: Gary Herbert, Utah Governor
Justice For Echo
The shooting death of Echo. Echo was the famous wolf that showed up in the vicinity of the Grand Canyon.
Why is this important?
To whom it may concern: We the people and as Advocates for wolves demand the FWS of Utah punish the man responsible for the death of "Echo" to be punished according to the Endangered Species Act. The hunter that shot and killed "Echo" the wolf in which indeed is the same wolf that was spotted in the Grand Canyon who was given the name Echo by a 10 year old boy who won a contest for picking the best name for the Endangered animal. The man who did this act and claims to have mistaken Echo for a " Coyote", should be punished and harshly prosecuted to the full extent of the law according to the Endangered Species Act in which I will name from least to worse. Misdemeanor, Anyone who kills an Endangered Species even by verified accident can be Fined $1000.00,civil offense- punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to a $25,000.00 fine or both. Felony: Anyone who knowingly kills an Endangered Species with intent to do so punishable to one year in prison, $50,000.00 fine or both, plus the loss of the vehicle used to transport or to drive to commit such an act, plus the loss of all firearms, plus the loss of hunting privileges anywhere in the United States for One year.
