K-9 Units instead of armed guards

Expand on the training of K-9 units instead of armed guards.It is more cost efficient insofar as they do not require anything more than training,food ,medical care and of course LOVE.Ther are thousands of dogs euthanized each year due to overcrowding so why not take the time and patience to train them not only to be useful but to feel useful as well and perhaps have some dignity while they are here.The possibilities are endless. Let schools make it part of the curriculum on a voluntary elective basis as to how to train and care for dogs. You can judge a person pretty well I think by the way they treat another of God's creatures. They all do not have to be Rin Tin Tin but I am confident that all can be given a purpose and therefore some dignity.If not for protection, how about the disabled student,teacher or authorized visitor? Would they not feel safer and more confident knowing that man' s best friend is watching out for the Bad Guy with a gun rather than another Guy with a gun? I am a current dog owner and lover for twelve years now and the one thing that I am absolutely certain of is that the one thing dogs Love to do most behind eating and a good belly rub is protecting the hand that feeds them without hesitation or reservation . All it takes is training,time.patience, a good piece of steak and most of all TLC. From where I sit it is a win for everyone and everything. After all, are not our children and future worth it?
