Keep Fracking Out of Our Forests and Parks

I am deeply disappointed that our new Interior Secretary, Sally Jewell, has just proposed rules that fail to protect our national parks and forests from fracking.

In 2011, your own advisory panel recommended that "unique and/or sensitive areas" should be kept "off limits to drilling." Please tell Secretary Jewell to follow that directive and keep our forests and parks free from fracking.

Why is this important?

Right now, the Obama administration is deciding on rules that will determine whether fracking is allowed in many of our national forests or near our national parks.

The frack-fueled oil and gas rush has marred countless landscapes across the nation. It has also contaminated drinking water and made people sick. Let’s tell President Obama to keep our forests and parks frack-free.
