Keep Mexican wolf gene pool healthy

The Mexican wolf needs new bloodlines, and the release of captive wolves to breed with females, and keep the gene pool integrity. There are 97 wolves in Arizona and New Mexico, and that is not sustainable. The wolf keeps the ecology healthy, and there should be about 300 now. They are illegally shot and disappear. It is the government of Arizona's responsibility to help the program that was introduced by USFWS, and that 79 % of Arizona residents support wolf recovery. The ranchers need to use methods introduced by conservation groups to stop cattle depredation, and share public lands with the wildlife.

Why is this important?

The wolf was nearly massacred into extinction, and the Mexican gray wolf is one of the most endangered of the species. The health of the Mexican wolf depends on healthy pack numbers, and the governor and certain representatives of Arizona are allowing special interests to stall and destroy the recovery program.
