Keep the post office open. The $5.5 billion requirement for prefunding retirement health care is causing an undue hardship on the post office. No other business or government agency has this burden. Add to that the recession, yet the post office has delivered America's mail. Now the postmaster general has announced the closing of hundreds of post offices and elimination of thousands of jobs. This is not the answer. Congress created this mess and Congress has to fix it. End the prefunding requirement and let the post office compete on an even playing field.
