We strongly urge you to reject the proposal to rename the 2nd and 3rd town council districts. By switching the numbers (2nd becomes the 3rd and the 3rd becomes the 2nd), you would effectively isolate the current 2nd and 4th districts together, making the town land use boards and commissions safer for the majority party.
The effect of this proposed renaming would isolate the largely minority – both racially and politically – districts into one entity.
We urge you to do the right thing. Vote against this renaming of the 2nd and 3rd council districts.

Redistricting is happening in towns all across Connecticut. In Stratford, we are facing a move to isolate the two minority town council districts.
