Keep the Local Bank In Our Community

TD Bank is Closing! Let’s Stress Our Concerns!

TD Bank, 958 State Street, Springfield MA, is closing its doors on January 31, 2020. State Representative Bud Williams, Ward 4 City Councilor Malo Brown, City Councilor at Large Tracye Whitfield and Senator Jim Welsh have been working diligently to support the community. They have met with TD Banks’ president but feel there is a need for greater support, the community.

We are pushing this to congress. By doing so, Congressman Richard Neal needs to be aware of the concerns of his constituents, in other words, the community. He must know our seniors should have a safe place to deposit or withdraw their money. An ATM is for quick cash but can be unsafe at times. We all should be aware that there is not another financial institute for miles away. If you have any other reason why TD Bank should keep its business or allow another bank to take its place would be helpful.

Please, join us by calling Congressman Richard Neal’s office and asking for his support. The contact numbers are listed and a call script. Feel free to add your own words.

My name is _______________________. I am a registered voter. I am a resident of Springfield MA. I am calling in regards to stop TD Bank from closing its 958 State Street branch. We are looking for your support in keeping the business open for the diversity of entities in the urban community of Springfield.

Why is this important?

TD Bank has been in the Bay Area for years. They have supported local nonprofit organizations with help in collecting donations for our neighborhood children and more. The residence has a place to deposit their incomes directly.
Major banks have been closing in our local areas and have left an empty building in its place. We need to continue to support one another by keeping local businesses open in the neighborhood.

How it will be delivered

We will inform the State Rep Bud Willams and Ward 4 City Councilor Malo Brown of who has signed the partition. The update is they have reached out to Senator Elizebeth Warren and we have her support.
