Keep Tussey Mountain School District's School Resource Officer
The Tussey Mountain School District's Board of Education must decide whether or not to fund and keep our School Resource Officer (SRO) for next school year. Please put the safety of our students first and support the effort to keep and make the SRO a district employee.
Why is this important?
Beginning next school year, the Tussey Mountain School District Board of Education must decide whether or not to financially fund the position of SRO. Previously, the funding for our SRO has come from grants that have been applied for by the Saxton Borough; however, the grant funding through Saxton Borough will cease at the conclusion of this school year. Therefore, moving forward, this position must be funded by TMSD.
The TMSB committee that will recommend whether or not to fund our district's SRO will hold two public meetings on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Members of the community will be given the opportunity to speak and express their concerns.
Please sign our petition and attend one or both meetings to show your support in favor of hiring our SRO in order to maintain student safety as our number one priority.
