Kids, Not Cuts

Every child deserves a fair shot in life and that starts with a quality education. Yet some in Congress are proposing cutting almost $6.9 billion from our schools and our teachers in the next year, affecting more than 6 million kids across the country.

We need a leader to stand up to these cuts. Please continue to stand strong against education cuts.

Why is this important?

I have no idea why Congress would be considering a devastating $6.9 billion cut to education funding — but we need your help need your help to stop it.

These kind of cuts don't paint a pretty picture: Teacher layoffs, bigger class sizes, fewer aides for kids with special needs.

Everyone deserves a fair shot in life, and that starts with a quality education. Yet, the House recently passed a budget which cuts billions in education funding, slashing the programs that education millions of kids here in the Bay State and across the country.

The last thing we need to be doing now is cutting eduction. These cuts come on top of huge cuts that just went into effect when the Sequester cut education funding by $1.7 billion. These cuts will soon impact 1.2 million kids and take 30,000 teachers and staff out of schools.

We need champions in Congress to fight back against Rep. Paul Ryan, Sen. Rand Paul and others who think we should slash education funding to the bone. I think that champion should be Sen. Elizabeth Warren, as a teacher and professor and someone who knows how to take a stand. Join us in calling on Sen. Warren to lead the charge against education cuts in Congress.
