Killers Anonymous
We must no longer treat murderers like celebrities. They should remain sad nobodies, not given attention. Every time the news shows a murderer and attaches their name to a horrific crime and a body count, the next one in line is incentivised to commit an even worse atrocity.
If you put your name on this petition, you are asking the Federal Communications Commission to enact restrictions on radio and television stations such that the name "suspect," "murderer" or "criminal," but no actual names or photos may be used in covering a capital crime.

Why is this important?
Every time a murder is committed, the media is quick to include a name and photo in the story. As a result, the public all learn the name of the murderer. He or she becomes notorious. Rather than killing just themselves out of loneliness and misery, they die knowing that they have effectively become celebrities. And worse yet, nobody remembers the victims except their immediate families and friends. This is backwards.
