Label BioSolids' Products
The use of BioSolids (processed sewage) is becoming widespread in the cultivation of some of our food products, such as our grains. Now BioSolids are also being packaged and sold to consumers as "natural" fertilizers to be used on their home gardens. People can buy these products without knowing that the major ingredient is processed sewage, because there is no law regulating the labeling of these products. We all have the right to know and Congress has the responsibility to inform us about the products that we use. There is yet no scientific proof that BioSolid products are completely safe to use. We need to at least have transparency in what companies are attempting to sell to us so we can make the choice of whether we want to take the risk in using BioSolids on the food and plants we grow in our backyards.
Please sign this petition, asking Congress to pass a law requiring that any product that includes processed sewage should be labeled as such.

Why is this important?
BioSolids, a term created by the waste management industry to disguise the negative connotations of "sewage," can be sold as fertilizer without listing ingredients. These products can even be described as "Natural." Many people remain in the dark about the potential threats to their health that BioSolid Products can produce. In the least, they should be aware that sewage is an ingredient in the fertilizer that they are using in their home garden.
