Label GMO Food

The increase in consumption of genetically modified foods (GMOs) in western diets is coincident with an increase in rates of autism, gastrointestinal disease such as Crohn's and celiac, cancers, and obesity. Consider that independent scientists are still not sure whether GMOs and pesticide/herbicide resistant crops are entirely safe for human consumption, and many studies suggest they are not. Those who gain financially from GMOs want us to believe they are safe, i.e. Monsanto and the biotech industry. Consumers have a right to know what they are consuming and should have the right to choose their level of risk associated with these products through properly labeled food packaging. Please ask our legislators in Wisconsin to require proper labeling of GMO food that is sold here.
