Label GMO Foods.

We, the undersigned, call upon you to lead the move to require all foods sold in Massachusetts containing genetically modified plant or animal content to be prominently labeled "Contains GMO ingredients". We note that there is currently no Federal or State requirement for safety testing of these products, so informing the public is a minimal step allowing them to make more informed decisions.

Why is this important?

People close to me have problems aggravated by certain GMO crops, but they can currently never know if these are in the food they eat. Once in the environment, genetic modifications spread and infect other crops, plants or animals by cross-breeding. Side effects are predictable but commonly ignored by industry. Public knowledge of the scope of the changes of the past two or three years, and of the harm already done, is very limited. This begins to address that knowledge gap.
