We, the undersigned, request that the consumable products that are sold in the state of New Mexico be labeled with the label, "Contains GMOs" if they contain any genetically modified organisms in the ingredient list. As citizens, we have the right to know what we are consuming.
Why is this important?
I'm a student in an Environmental Science class and we are learning the negative effects of genetically modified organisms on local farmers and the environment. By labeling the food that contains GMOs, we can help our community make better choices about who they support through their purchases.
