NRA blood-money flowing into US politicians' hands has persuaded them to look the other way as preventable gun-related deaths occur by the thousands and with increasing frequency. A political organization which encourages this extreme level of inaction without justification must be considered a malevolent actor in a civilized society. This petition, therefore, seeks to persuade the US government to rightly and officially label the NRA as the terrorist organization it has become.
Why is this important?
The unabated flow of NRA blood-money into our politicians' hands has led them to hold the interests of the NRA above the public interest. Their inaction at NRA's behest has led directly to countless gun deaths in our country with increasing frequency and deadliness. Viewing the NRA as a benevolent actor in our political system is no longer an option. Political inaction is no longer an option.
This willful inaction is a gross violation of the Oath of Office which each politician has taken. With credible reports now linking NRA to Russian money-laundering, we can no longer be certain of the allegiances of this organization nor afford to allow our politicians' allegiances to be bought by these unknown sources of influence.
