Lack of Animal Rights In Mississippi
Require stronger felony laws concerning ALL animal abuse/neglect activities in the state of Mississippi;Make it illegal for an abuser to ever be in possession of an animal after "ONE" conviction;List ALL abusers in a state wide registry;Educate All Law Enforcement of new investigative techniques and prosecution of animal abuse/neglect and require officers to be certified yearly.
Why is this important?
Mississippi ranks in the bottom five states out of all the states in America for animal rights. I am not proud of this ranking, and neither should anyone else be. Every citizen of Mississippi is affected by animal cruelty, emotionally and financially. Where you have uncontrolled animal abuse and neglect, you will also have a larger population of criminals. Let us make Mississippi a better place to live for our children by using all of the tools at hand:education for our citizens & law enforcement, stricter laws imposed, enforcement of laws that are passed, and funding for "no kill" rescue shelters.
