The US Govt, and the Corp of Engineers needs to impliment corrective actions immediately and stop the outflow of water from Lakes Michigan & Huron through the St. Clair River.
Why is this important?
Lakes Michigan & Huron are at record low water levels. Most of the drop is being caused by the lack of ice during the winter, and the overall lack of rainfall. There is a third cause which is the dredging of the St Clair River which caused severe bottom eroding and now allows huge amounts of water to pass out of the lakes. It is estimated that the St Clair dredging accounts for 15" - 17 " of the water level drop.
Property owners, boaters, swimmers, fisherman, marinas and the entire population surrounding the 2 lakes are being severely affected by the conditions.
The US Govt, and the Corp of Engineers needs to impliment corrective actions immediately and stop the outflow of water.
