There is a petition going around trying to repeal the Fireworks Safety Act of 2011. When the law was enacted a decision was made that a certain number of consumer grade fireworks should be allowed. In the times prior to this change in the law these fireworks were already in the hands of consumers within the state of Michigan but they were brought in illegally. This law should be left as is so that responsible adults can purchase and use these low power consumer grade fireworks.
Why is this important?
Leave the Fireworks Safety Act 256 of 2011 alone. There is no need to repeal this Act as it does not stop the fireworks from being in the hands of those that incorrectly use them. This will only help keep bringing extra money into Michigan instead of sending it to other states.
