Lee Terry excludes Bellevue to ensure victory
The Nebraska Legislature should return Bellevue to the Second Congressional District. Bellevue and Offutt Air Force Base have much more in common with Omaha than does rural western Sarpy County.
Why is this important?
The Nebraska Legislature removed Bellevue from Nebraska's Second Congressional District and put Nebraska's oldest community into the First Congressional District. The Republican majority in the state legislature did this to shore up the republicans' chances in the Second Congressional District. Bellevue, which is democratically heavy, was replaced in the Second District by western Sarpy County, which is very republican. This ensured a victory by Lee Terry.
