Legalize Hookah Lounges

Legalize and provide a way to obtain a Hookah Lounge license in Utah.

Why is this important?

We want to create a safe place for patrons of age to come and enjoy an assortment of cafe goods along with Hookah. Currently in Utah, it is illegal to own and operate Hookah lounges. We have no way of obtaining a license in order to serve our community with what they want. We have a vast population that enjoys their nicotine and it’s only growing. If smoking cigarettes and vaping is legal, then why shouldn’t Hookah be? Yes, smoking indoors has its arguments in regards to second-hand smoke. However, we are looking for an exception to bring this specific idea to life. Look at California; you see Hookah spots on every corner with no issue! Hookah made with quality sheesh doesn’t contain any illegal contraband. In fact, your daily pack of cigarettes contains a vast amount more of carcinogens than a standard Hookah. Bringing a Hookah lounge to Salt Lake that has a calming ambiance where people can enjoy themselves and unwind after a hard day of work as opposed to going out and drinking in a club is a much safer option.
