Let Medicare negotiate drug prices
Press Congress to reduce Medicare costs by adding a public option for drug coverage.
Why is this important?
Seniors should have the option of getting drug coverage directly through Medicare, which could negotiate for very low prices. Instead, Medicare Part D guarantees huge profits for the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. With Republicans in Congress linking Medicare to the "fiscal cliff," President Obama has the perfect opportunity to make good on his 2008 campaign promise to add a public option for drug coverage.
