Please make changes to law MCL 700.7706 (Removal of a Trustee) to include the following reasons for removal of a trustee: "lack of cooperation with the beneficiary, guardian of the beneficiary and other interested parties such as social workers, accountants and financial advisers.Neglecting to property perform duties as a trustee that is in the best interest of the beneficiary and overcharging the trust for their services ".
Why is this important?
My sister has a trustee that hasn't been doing what is best for her as beneficiary of a Special Needs Trust. People with disabilities should have rights just like any other individual. Including the right to remove a trustee if they feel that what the trustee has done is not in their best interest and the right to make decisions regarding their trust.
